Rediscovering God in DC

Package Includes:
Dinner, National Archives, Guided DC tour including
Monuments that Revolve around Great Ideas shaped by
the Belief that we are One Nation Under God,
New Capitol Visitors Center and Transportation.
This tour is based upon the book, “Rediscovering
God in America”, written by former House Speaker
Newt Gingrich. The book is a brief but persuasive
rebuttal to those who would erase all mention of God
and religion from public life in the United States.
Our driving & walking tour is a tour of American history,
of the great men and women, the great events, the great
documents, and great institutions – all shaped decisively
by the genuine belief that we are a nation under God.
Each stop will include an account on the history of
the location; a description of the religious words,
symbols, imagery found there and a discussion of the
role that religion played in the life of the great men
and women who are memorialized there.
Our tour will begin at the National Archives, where
the Declaration of Independence and Constitution are
housed. We will then move onto the Washington Monument,
the White House, the Jefferson and Franklin Delano
Roosevelt Memorials. Lunch will be on your own at
the Union Station Food Court. After lunch we will
continue the tour of the inside the new Capitol
Visitor’s Center where you can explore the only
exhibition in the country dedicated to telling the
story of the Congress and the construction of the
U.S. Capitol. Upon exiting the U.S. Capitol, we will
view the Library of Congress and the Supreme Court
from the outside. You will hear brief histories of
each as well as the religious imagery they may hold.
We will conclude our wonderful day with stops at the
Lincoln Memorial, as well as the Vietnam Veterans and
World War II Memorials. Before departing the city we will
have dinner at Buca di Beppo that is included in the cost.

Washington, D.C., the command center for the Union war
effort, is rich in Civil War stories. Historic sites
throughout the city bring to life the people and events
of this defining period in our nation’s history.
During our tour we will look with new eyes at
the U.S. Capitol – the soldier’s quarters and bakery.
As well as walk where Lincoln walked, drive past the church
where he worshipped and visit the house where he died on the
fateful day in 1865.
From the moment the first shots were fired on Fort
Sumter, South Carolina the Civil War became the central
fact in Washington City’s life and transformed its character forever.
National Independence Day Celebration in DC

Package Includes: Brief tour of DC, Lunch,
Evening Outdoor Concert, Firework Display and Transportation
After a brief tour of the city, you will be dropped off at
the NAVY Memorial to enjoy the folk festival on the National Mall.
An Annual event, it features musical and dance performances,
crafts, cooking demonstrations and more. The US Navy Band performs
on the south corner of the Washington Monument grounds and several
pop artists will be performing Patriotic music on the west lawn of
the U.S. Capitol Building. This concert begins at 8:00 pm, however;
it is extremely popular and seating begins at 3:00 pm. At approximately
9:15 pm, amazing fireworks are launched from the Lincoln Memorial
Reflecting Pool. (This trip will go rain or shine, however some
of the events may be cancelled due to the weather, these events
are free, therefore there will be no refunds issued if any are cancelled)

Veterans Day in Washington, DC

In honor of Veterans Day, Stars and Stripes Tours
invites you to take the D.C. Veterans Tour! This tour visits
a number of significant memorials and sites honoring our
military veterans. The tour stops at the Washington Monument,
World War II Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial,
Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Korean Memorial and
Iwo Jima Memorial. Lunch is included today at Carmines,
A legendary family style Italian Restaurant. Following lunch,
we will visit Arlington Cemetery. Be sure to stop at the Kennedy
Grave sites, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Arlington
House. The changing of the guard occurs at the Tomb of the Unknown

Today we will depart home for a one-of-a-kind Christmas
experience in our Nation’s capital. We will have a later
departure so that we can enjoy the extravagant decorations
when they are all lit up. We will arrive for dinner on your
own at Union Station. After dinner we will make our way
through DC with a lighted monument tour including: WWII,
Roosevelt, and Lincoln memorials. We will make a special stop
at the White House to walk around and view the National
Christmas tree along with the 50 separate state trees. Each
